This engine house is one of a number that are visible from my garden across a wooded valley, I drew this one Sunday morning early, having jumped on my bike with a few drawing aids, sitting in the early morning sun, and listening to the birds singing. We have such a wealth of subjects close at hand to draw here in St Day and the surrounding areas, the whole area has a long mining tradition, which gives many a varied subject matter to paint or draw in the open air.
